Equip's engineering team is growing rapidly and we're looking for an Engineering Manager to help manage and scale the org. Our team values transparency and believes in fostering an inclusive, collaborative, helpful team environment. We are looking for an engineering manager who is inspired to mentor, grow, and help teams succeed, especially when the team is still small and nimble. You are an experienced people manager and adept project manager who can guide developers to perform at their best and also remove any blockers that may appear.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leader - Lead agile software processes and help refine the product and engineering roadmap to drive user value and business impact
- Help prioritize work for your team, making difficult tradeoffs on design based on business constraints, ensuring on-time deliverables and high-quality software
- Lead high performing full-stack engineering team(s) and in a technical hands-on capacity
- Provide hands-on technical management, guidance, and support including system/design/code review, software engineering best practices and ultimately be responsible for the health of the systems your team builds
- Be an effective people manager who raises the bar in hiring and developing the best, performance evaluations and creating force multipliers
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering work experience
- 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience
- 4 year degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Experience with the below technology stack highly preferred
- Experience building SPAs and micro services using industry best practices in the cloud
- Proven ability to collaborate with product managers and engineers to build plans, set expectations, and successfully deliver projects
- Ability to balance business needs, a sense of urgency, and shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions
- Strong team building and empowering skills; you love building scalable and high-performing teams of engineers
Languages & Frameworks: Java, JavaScript, React
DB: PostGreSQL (or other relational databases)
Cloud: AWS services
Tools: Git, Github
