Position Summary
Blackbird Health is hiring a remote Provider Capacity & Scheduling Specialist to manage provider templates, capacity, and availability across our clinics. You will partner with clinical leaders to ensure provider schedules align with contracts, patient demand, and business priorities. This role blends daily operational precision with process improvement to maximize patient access and keep our clinical operations running smoothly.

How you’ll make an impact:
- Build and manage provider schedule templates and slot capacity in AthenaHealth
- Own provider availability workflows, including PTO requests, schedule freezes, and panel transitions
- Build initial schedules and ramp plans for onboarding providers
- Maintain operational trackers for caseloads, psychiatric re-evaluations, and system updates
- Identify and resolve schedule errors proactively to maintain clean forward-looking capacity
- Help standardize and automate scheduling documentation to reduce admin burden for managers
The basics you’ll need:
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare operations, provider scheduling, or care coordination
- Working knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
- Proven track record of managing detailed operational workflows with zero slip-ups
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Nice to have:
- Direct experience with AthenaHealth EHR
- Background in behavioral health or pediatric healthcare operations
